What is a Blue light color Bandpass Filter?
A blue color bandpass filter is a common visible-light VIS optical bandpass filter that selectively transmits light within a specific blue wavelength range while blocking unwanted wavelengths, including ultraviolet, other visible light and infrared radiation.Common models include BP450nm, BP457nm, BP460nm, BP462nm, and BP475nm filters. Typical FWHM values range from 10nm to 60nm, and manufacturers can customize the center wavelength and bandwidth to meet different application requirements. In general, different applications require different FWHM bandwidths:
- Laser Cleanup and High-Precision Detection: These applications typically require narrow bandpass filters with an FWHM of 20nm or less to isolate specific wavelengths and reduce unwanted light interference.
- Machine Vision: Machine vision systems generally use filters with an FWHM of around 25–50nm to balance signal intensity and background light rejection.
- Fluorescence Microscopy: Applications that need to collect fluorescence signals across a wider spectral range typically use filters with an FWHM of 40nm or more.
When selecting the blue color bandpass filter, it is important to consider more than the center wavelength (CWL) and Full Width at Half Maximum (FWHM). Other key optical parameters include peak transmittance and out-of-band blocking depth, which directly affect signal collection and filtering performance.

Shenzhen Hengda Liyuan Optoelectronics introduced advanced optical vacuum technology that apply depositing nano-materials through ion-assisted evaporation onto a multilayer hard film in a high vacuum environment which the coating layer is firm and has good tightness and small bandwidth drift. The company have been focus on optical coating for more than 17 years ,and the company offer one-stop optical filters solution including Narrow Bandpass Filters, IR cut-off Filters, Longpass Filters, Shortpass Filters, Notch Filters, ND filters, Star filters and Optical sapphire block.
Remark:Because the interference type filter varies its spectral performance at different angles, the spectral parameters usually determine its appearance color; moreover, the pictures in this link may originate from various shooting angles, so the actual color of the parts should therefore refer to the final spectral parameters required.
